If you were shown a pop-up asking you to reconnect your social media accounts, it is necessary for you to reconnect them by the date shown in order for you to be able to apply for social campaigns.
For step-by-step instructions on how to reconnect each social media, please refer to the guide below:
Why has my social media disconnected?
When you connect your social media to your profile, we are provided an access token by that platform, which allows us to retrieve your account analytics. Unfortunately, these tokens can expire or become invalid. While it may be annoying to have to reconnect your accounts again, this is a way for the social media company to ensure your account remains safe and protected.
There are a couple of actions that can cause the token to expire:
1. The token reaches the end of its lifespan
Each platform has a set lifespan for its tokens. After this time passes, the token will expire and you will have to reconnect.
-
- Instagram Creator/Business Accounts: 60 days.
- TikTok: 365 days.
- Youtube: Does not have an expiration date.
2. There has been a change to your account settings
If you make any manual changes to your account, such as changing your username or password, the token will reset. Other changes, such as changing the account admin or changing access permissions in your social media settings will also cause the token to expire.
3. Suspicious activity has been flagged on your account
If your social media platform detects any suspicious activity on your account, all of the 3rd party platforms (such as the Picky Creators platform) will lose access to your account in order to keep your information safe. This will include actions such as logging in from an unknown device or location, reports of inappropriate content, and incomplete 2-factor authentication.
